We got to the hospital and got mom all checked in bright and early, and I got to spend about 20 minutes with her in the pre-op room before she was sedated. By the next day, she was moved to a regular room, and was feeling much better. The kids all got to visit for a while before Lily and I had to leave for the airport that evening. It would be months before she was fully recovered, but we were glad to have the chance to be there cheering her on, and know that she was mostly out of the woods when we left.
